Preventive dentistry

We promote prevention to all our patients. Once you have completed your dental treatment, we recommend half-yearly or annual check-ups, which will be arranged as part of our free check-up program.
By going to the dentist regularly, you can prevent the onset of diseases of the mouth and limit the amount of damage caused.

Some tips for good and effective oral hygiene:

Visit the dentist once a year

Go to the dentist once a year at least, and from an early age. Decay can occur in even the first teeth.

Brush your teeth regularly

Brush at least twice a day for two minutes each time to maintain healthy teeth. Brushing your teeth properly has two objectives: the first is to remove plaque that forms on the surface and the second is the effect of the active substances on tissues including remineralizing, dental desensitizing or antiseptic. The desensitizing decreases the pores of the tooth surface while the antiseptic helps to reduce the number of bacteria.

Brushing correctly

Proper brushing is vital. The brushing action should be smooth and with no excessive pressure. It should be on all sides of the teeth (exterior and interior) especially in the lower.

Choosing the right toothpaste

Using a fluoride toothpaste when brushing is the basis for maintaining a healthy mouth without caries. There are toothpastes with different concentrations of fluoride according the risk of caries of each person as well as specific toothpastes to improve the state of the gums or for teeth whitening.

Flossing

To get rid of food remains that may have fallen between the teeth or become embedded within the gums, it is important to floss. Experts advise to use it once a day.

Rinse your mouth with a mouthwash

A daily use of a mouthwash gives the benefit of the active ingredient that it contains. It is preferable not to rinse with water after using, and do not eat any food because it will eliminate the active ingredients the mouthwash has left in the mouth.
